 The value of diamonds is not dependent upon any currency. They are valued according to international standards which meet mainly 6 criteria:

It is expressed in carat (0.20 gram) - The heavier, the higher the value per carat for one category of diamonds.

 

 Colour :

 

D : Exceptional White +
E : Exceptional White
F : Extra White +
G : Extra White
H : White
I : Shaded white

 Clarity :

 

X10 : Flawless (no inclusions visible using 10 times magnification)
VVS1 : Very Very Small Inclusions 1
VVS2 : Very Very Small Inclusions 2
VS1 : Very Small Inclusions 1
VS2 : Very Small Inclusions 2
SI1 : Small Inclusions 1
SI2 : Small Inclusions 2
